# A Paradise Called Jimdeer Corbett: Stories from an Owner’s Perspective

As I sit on Jimdeer Corbett’s porch, watching the sun paint the Himalayan foothills in gold, I can’t help but reflect on my experience as the owner of this beloved homestay. Over the last few years, I’ve had the honour of not only managing this property but also visiting it as a guest with my family, making it genuinely unique.

## A home away from home.

I built a strong relationship with Jimdeer Corbett after staying there five times as a guest before becoming the owner. Every visit revealed a new aspect of its allure, from the lovely morning chorus of birds to the delicate whispering of sal trees in the evening breeze. These memories influenced my vision for the hotel when I took over, ensuring that every guest feels the same warmth and connection as I did.

My family has also fallen in love with Jimdeer, and we have spent five unforgettable vacations here. Through their eyes, I’ve learnt to appreciate the simple things that make a visit memorable, such as the cosy reading nooks, the safe garden spaces for children to play, and the viewing decks where nature unfolds her daily drama.

# Safari Adventures in the Wild

One of the most enjoyable parts of owning a property near Jim Corbett National Park is having exclusive access to animal adventures. We’ve built ties with the greatest naturalists and guides in the area to ensure our clients have the most authentic safari experience possible. Whether it’s the early morning safaris when tigers are most active or the afternoon drives when elephant herds emerge from the thickets, each visit to the park is unique.

I’ve personally witnessed several wonderful moments, such as a tigress teaching her pups to hunt, a herd of spotted deer warning others of a predator’s presence, or a rare glimpse of a leopard reclining on a tree branch. These experiences have taught me that nature operates on its own timetable, and patience is rewarded with the most breathtaking views.

## Culinary Journey Through Local Flavours

At Jimdeer Corbett, we feel that cuisine is an essential component of the vacation experience. Our kitchen serves authentic Kumaoni cuisine, made by generations of local cooks. From the substantial bal mithai (local sweet) to the flavourful bhang ki chutney (hemp seed chutney), each dish offers a tale about the region’s rich culinary tradition.

We obtain our supplies from adjacent villages to assist local farmers while providing the freshest produce for our customers. The seasonal menu changes based on what’s available locally, giving each visit a unique culinary excursion. Whether it’s savouring hot pakoras during the monsoon season or warming up with traditional soups in the winter, Jimdeer’s food is always a celebration of local flavours.

## A Photographer’s Dream

As an avid photographer, I can attest that Jim Corbett Homestay is nothing short of a photographer’s dream. The property’s strategic location provides numerous opportunities to capture nature’s magnificence. Dawn gives stunning pictures of mist drifting over the hills, while sunset shows spectacular shadows of birds returning to their nests.

Our land includes various specially planned observation areas ideal for wildlife photography. We’ve hosted a number of professional photographers who have caught wonderful photographs of various bird species, including brilliant kingfishers and majestic hornbills. The various seasons provide diverse photographic opportunities: spring with its vibrant blooms, monsoon with its spectacular skies, and winter with its crystal-clear vistas of the Alps.

## Wildlife Watching: Not Just Tigers

While Corbett is famed for its tigers, the biodiversity near Jimdeer is magnificent. Visitors to our property frequently see numerous deer species, wild boars, and, on rare occasions, elephants moving through the surrounding areas. The bird life is really magnificent; we’ve documented over 100 species just on our campus.

We’ve set up many safe viewing locations around the property where guests can observe wildlife without disturbing them. Barking deer frequent our native fruit orchards in the early morning, while langurs settle into neighbouring trees in the evening. These daily encounters with nature make vacationing at Jimdeer an unforgettable experience.

## Stay with Us: Experience the Difference.

What distinguishes Jimdeer Corbett is our dedication to giving an authentic wildlife experience while maintaining modern amenities. Our accommodations are meant to fit into the natural environment while providing all necessary facilities. We believe in sustainable tourism and have adopted a variety of environmentally friendly methods, including rainwater harvesting and organic waste treatment.

As an owner who has been both a guest and a host at Jimdeer Corbett, I can state that it is more than just a place to stay; it is a portal to seeing nature’s raw beauty. Whether you’re a wildlife enthusiast, a photographer, a family looking for a relaxing vacation, or someone trying to reconnect with nature, Jim Corbett has something for everyone.

Come, be our guest, and allow us to share with you the wonder of this land we proudly call home.
